From FMEA to Test: An Example of Success
The industry overall situation forced all companies to approach the mindset "innovate for better quality with speed," which means develop solutions in a fast way with higher quality, saving money (faster, better and cheaper). To improve the validation and verification strategy, Tetra Pak Packaging Solution in Modena (DSO Development and Service Operations, Line Engineering A3&C3) is adopting a reliability approach to be followed during the validation and verification strategy inside new projects or during product life cycle activities. This approach includes various reliability techniques, such as Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), Design of Experiments (DOE) and Accelerated Lifetime Test Analysis (ALT). The presentation gives a process overview for a practical example related to our business, a filling machine for the food industry.
Key Words: ALT (Accelerated Lifetime Test), DOE (Design of Experiment), FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), Test, Test Bench, Test Rig, Process. Reliability
