9:10 to 10:10 a.m. Wednesday June 18, 2008
Program Managing for Reliability During Development of
the Cessna Citation Mustang
New program reliability success can
be attributed to continuous process improvement and using lessons
learned from previous programs to develop new processes and
applications for reliability tools and methodology.
This
presentation will use the Cessna Citation Mustang as an example.
During the Mustang program, significant strides were made to adopt
Design for Reliability earlier than on previous programs. New
metrics were developed and used to track progress, and to drive
reliability substantiation accountability throughout the supply
chain. The successes and lessons learned have resulted in greater
acceptance and understanding of reliability engineering’s role
during the advanced design stages of development.
Key Words: Design for
Reliability, NP&SI, Substantiation
